Council Meeting Minutes Oct 4

Meeting Summary:
Picked time for dig in, talked about book to read.
Picked time for retreat.
Decided to switch banks.
Planned next two large groups.
Debriefed from last large group.




October 4th , 2011 Meeting Minutes
Present:
Sam E, Richard G, Peter B, Amy P, Tim J, Grace

Talked about starting, but Richard didn't have the meeting notes up
Hunter's small groups doesn't conflict with Faraday Institute
Amy can come to next large group due to canceled class
Lunch with Amy is still on for this Thursday
Tim arrived
Meeting opened in prayer by Peter

Large group went well

People had a good time
Included some Bible verses

Involved people: Dan Sexton, Karen Dowling, Paul Nguyen, Mike Paluchniak, Mateo (gone this year due to surgery)
Last year not officially affiliated with CCF
Should ask them if them they want to be advertised with other CCF smal groups
Peter will meet with Mike P
Richard will meet with Karen D
Large group next week
Church and ministry fair
Each will talk in succession

Peter B could talk about it
Peter B will ask Nate if he's still involved

Christine Kondos spent a year with them last year

Need to schedule around frisbee tournaments
Tim is asking Josh at practice
Last weekend of October or first weekend of November
Weekend six (first weekend of November) has fewest conflicts
No formal decision yet
Skippy is free most weekends
Peter laments being a Geology major and missing the dig-in

Many alumni are interested in coming back
Skippy suggests 4 campsites
If we had tons of people we could get Camp Oakes
Not feasible
Food will be a little hard
The cost of getting food is a concave but strictly increasing function
Around 15 undergrads and 9 alumni roughly expected
Retreat is committed to weekend eight, November 18-20
Robb will see about reserving Caltech Y camping equipment
Committed to Malibu Creek
Decided on 4 campsites
Mainly due to cost savings from no vehicle fees
Grace arrived
Go on Faraday Institue stuff
They will send us posters to put up
Dai Wei is working on video that will be shown
Sam and or Peter will forward emails to council
Room is probably 153 Noyes
Fits about 100 people
Need access to doors, probably prop open
Richard will add link to blog on CCF website
Richard recommends getting CEFCU account

Skippy will prepare dig-in

Send out information about dig-in beforehand for meditation and question

Richard figured out how to do break through google
Peter closed in prayer
Amy – do we want snacks at large group
Peter will throw out old ice cream
Sam will bake for some large groups
Amy will bake for next week, and maybe bring drinks
