January 27th, 2012 Meeting Minutes

Notes:
- Important Notes
o Praise and Prayer Night is March 2
o Third tem retreat is May 19
o Blue slip milkshakes are February 13
o Second term retreat is February 10-11
- Dig-in might be postponed to later in the term
o Unless Tim figures stuff out really soon, we should move it
o Move to February Feb 17-18 or 24-25
o Sam will talk to Tim
- Richard talked to himself
o Richard said “I submitted the reimbursement this week”
o Richard said “That’s cool”
o Richard said “Maybe. I did it kindof outside the acceptable date. I hope they don’t mind.”
o Richard said “OK. If not, we can just charge all the retreat expenses for spring retreat and still get the maximum money form the retreat fund.”
- Sam is annoyed that random grad schools spam him
o He wishes he hadn’t checked the “Let schools contact me” box on the GRE
- This large group – problem of evil
o Visiting, travelling pastor who is also coming to dinner
- Large group shouldn’t go past 10 this week
- Last week large group was engaging and a little long
- In two weeks Yan Choi will be discussing the creeds
- Jay and Mary Parker will be speaking as a couple
o Might have dinner with couples
- Sam and maybe Timothy will be speaking on president’s day weekend
- Then John Dabiri will be speaking
- Veritas follow up will probably be mostly Christians, but that’s cool since it’s a good talk
- Sam will bug Timothy about scheduling rides for dig-in
- Robb and Stephen are working on spring retreats
